#2 DISCUSSION ONLY ORDINANCE 2010 - ___
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1152.05 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF
ORANGE VILLAGE TO REGULATE THE HEIGHT OF FENCES IN THE U-3 SENIOR
CITIZEN DISTRICT.
The fenced area in Landerwood Glen is actually located within the boundaries of Pepper Pike.
No variance or permit is needed from Orange Village. The U-3 District zoning codes do not
have any fencing regulations.
Discussions included:
· Would 6 foot fences be allowable/favorable facing the road if it was technically a residents’ back yard?
· Sizes of fences, depending on locations.
· Brian Hitt found that many of the zoning districts do not include fencing regulations.
Brian suggested creating a fence ordinance for each separate district.
· Herb Braverman suggested setting one fence standard and customize as needed.
This may create a situation where variances are needed.
· Mayor Mulcahy suggested that Village Planner, David Hartt and Law Director, Steve Byron
give their opinions.
#3 BUILDING COMMISSIONER’S REPORT
· The house at 3969 Beechmont Trail has been sold. The former owner (Roger Goldfarb) has contacted both
the new owner and their general contractor telling them the house has been condemned and needs to
be demolished. The information Mr. Goldfarb is telling the new owner and contractor is not true.
· The Wasabi Steakhouse construction continues to move along. Next Tuesday (Jan 26th),
20 of the hoods will be tested and the cleanouts will be checked.
· The house at 4220 Cambridge Court (sublot 7) while still under construction, Lou has asked
for either the architect or engineer to write a letter and provide a stamp of approval on the
integrity of the structure.
#4 VILLAGE ARCHITECT’S REPORT
· Ron is trying to put the word out in the Village to do more home renovation projects.
· Ron is trying put an end to bad quality plan submittals. He only wants complete and
professional plans to be submitted.
#5 ANY OTHER TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION
· Jud Kline will make a presentation to Council in February regarding the Orange Goes Green
Certification Program.
· At 8:30 am Tuesday morning (Jan. 26th) Harley Cohen is bringing in a guest, who will
speak on the subject of wind turbines.
